About the Speaker

Dr. Scott MacLean practices in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and specializes in implant and aesthetic dentistry. He has lectured worldwide, has taught Hands-on Training with Dr. K. Hebel and teaches courses on Guided Implants and Dynamic Implant Placement, emphasizing digital dentistry.

Dr. MacLean has more than 11,600 subscribers to his Dental YouTube Channel (smmaclean), which has received more than 3.5 million views. He is also the founder, president and director of the Atlantic Implant Mentorship (AIM4 Excellence) Study Club, which joined the Seattle Study Club in 2013.

Dr. MacLean has published many articles related to implant dentistry and digital technology on topics including dental implants; digital planning, workflow and photography; and the use of soft tissue lasers for full-mouth crown and bridge restorations. he has been trained as a Digital Smile Design Instructor and has taught that technique to numerous dentists in the Seattle Study Club. He is also an opinion leader for Nobel Biocare, SSC and 3M.

Dr. MacLean started using the NobelActive™ implant prior to its release in North America and has been a beta tester of numerous products prior to their market releases.

He is a member of the International College of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), the Canadian Academy of Restorative Prosthodontics (CARDP) and the Canadian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (CAED). He is also an Associate Fellow of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics (GNYAP), a fellow of the American College of Dentists (FACD), and of the International College of Dentists (FICD), The Pierre Faucard Academy (FPFA) and The Academy of Dentistry International (ADI).

Dr. MacLean is a graduate of the Dalhousie Dental School in Halifax, graduating in 1991 as class valedictorian. He has taught in the school’s clinic for more than 15 years, helping students understand general dentistry, as well as perform elective implant and aesthetic procedures.
